Hello

Please join us as we continue our important work in preparing diverse and women owned businesses gain greater knowledge on how to successfully bid on and win commercial construction contracts.

I am proud every time one of the businesses we have helped sends me a note, like Lilly Aguilar of Solutions Cleaning recently did. “Thank you Suzanne for helping me grow and flourish. Thank you for being so kind to me, thank you for your patience, encouragement and thank you for being a great mentor and amazing business coach.  Most important, thank you for believing in me.”

I have a passion for the work I do, which has grown and intensified as has my knowledge of the construction industry and the barriers that plague diverse firms remains essentially unchanged.  For decades upon decades, the construction industry has been unwelcoming to diverse firms.  The barriers are so profound and overwhelming that the majority of small contractors simply could not get over the hurdles.

When I recognized these barriers a decade ago, I felt that if I could assist them with securing bonding it would help get them through the front door.  But as I began my work as a surety bond producer, it quickly became evident that the myriad of barriers that existed before getting to the bonding phase, left so many unable to make that leap.  So with research and a persistence, we started our work with helping build the capacity for firms to get to the place where they could grow.

I am proud that God gave me a heart to serve others.  I am proud I can be voice for those who lack the words to advocate for themselves. I am proud I have the vision to develop innovative approaches that can improve our methods and delivery system.

Your donation will assist us greatly in continuing to assist businesses gain a greater foothold in the commercial construction industry.  Businesses in this industry can realize significant revenue, but they must possess the internal operations to effectively operate in the commercial arena.  We help them do this...not as much as we'd like, because we've never had the revenue we needed to execute our programs as intensely as we know is needed, which is why we have included donation requests to our growth strategy.  All businesses need revenue to sustain their operations and to grow, and we are no different.

We MUST get our diverse firms prepared and ready to participate as fully as possible in the billions of dollars in construction going on throughout our city and state and the infrastructure money that is coming from the federal government.  We cannot let another BIG BOOM hit and minority and women owned firms not get their share of the bounty.

As I look back, we have touched thousands of firms in one way or another...through our training, mentoring, conference or magazine.  If you are one of these, we ask you to donate and pay it forward.

In conclusion, I know as the firms we serve grow, they will need to hire additional employees, which in turn will improve the lives of these individuals, their families and the communities in which they live.

So, we’re asking for your contribution to help us make a difference. We've created a newsletter that summaries our work.  You can view it here:

Please help. Every donation makes a difference.  And please add us to your ANNUAL GIVING.
